Biography

Prof. Manuela De Allegri (Principal Investigator) is an internationally recognized expert in Health Policy and Systems Research, with an interdisciplinary background spanning Sociology, Health Economics, and Public Health. She brings over 25 years of experience working in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), with substantial fieldwork and research engagement in West Africa, including Liberia. MDA provides cutting-edge expertise in Implementation Science, Health Systems Strengthening, Economic Evaluation, and Knowledge Translation, including child and adolescent health. She has played a leading role in several high-impact projects, including the EU-funded ADVANCE project, which emphasized innovative approaches to adolescent mental health. In addition to her thematic contributions, MDA has a strong track record in capacity building and in coordinating large, interdisciplinary research consortia. Her leadership is marked by an ability to bridge diverse methodological paradigms, including the integration of quantitative, qualitative, and emergent mixed-methods designs, ensuring methodological rigor and context relevance in complex research environments.
