Biography

Dr. Rifat Atun is Vice Dean for Non-Degree Education & Innovation and Professor of Global Health Systems at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he also leads the Health System Innovation Lab. He is the first tenured professor of Global Health Systems at Harvard University and the world.

In 2006-13 he was a Professor of International Health Management and Head of the Health Management Group at Imperial College London. From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Atun served on the Executive Management Team of The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, overseeing strategy, performance and evaluation of investments of nearly USD $4 billion annually in more than 120 countries.

He has advised governments and multilateral organizations including the World Bank, World Health Organization, and the G20 on health system reform, innovation, global health security and COVID-19 response.
