Biography

Dr. Saadaq Adan Hussein (MBChB, MSc TID, FETP) is a Somali public health physician and epidemiologist serving as Lecturer and Postgraduate Mentorship Coordinator at Benadir University, Mogadishu. He holds an MBBCh with specialization in Tropical and Infectious Diseases and is a graduate of the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP), with advanced training from the Makerere Institute of Social Development, Uganda. He currently advises the Office of the Prime Minister of Somalia under the Social Pillar — Health Sector, and is founder of the SOR Institute for Somalia Social Research. His research spans infectious disease surveillance, health systems strengthening, One Health, health policy, and climate resilience. With an H-index of and indexed publications, he ranks among Somalia's top scientists and serves as peer reviewer for journals including BMC Public Health and Discover Public Health.
