Dr. Sudkanueng Ritruechai is the Director of the Center for Continuing Nursing Education
(CCNE) at the Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC), a position she has held since
May 2025. In this role, she leads continuing professional development (CPD) standards,
specialty nursing certification, curriculum accreditation, and regulatory policy for Thailand's
nursing workforce of over 270,000 registered nurses.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of
Newcastle, Australia (2013), a Master of Sciences in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, and
a Diploma of Nursing and Midwifery. Her doctoral research examined the lived experience of
Thai family caregivers during crises in caring for relatives with mental illness.
Dr. Sudkanueng brings over three decades of experience spanning clinical nursing, nursing
education, public health administration, and workforce policy. She previously served as Director
of the College of Public Health Administration (2020–2024) and has held nursing lecturer and
academic leadership positions across multiple institutions under the Ministry of Public Health,
including roles in curriculum development, quality assurance, and research.
Her research portfolio covers transformational leadership in primary health care, executive
training program development, managerial competency frameworks, public health workforce
capacity, and mental health nursing. She is an affiliated researcher at the Center of Excellence
in Communication Innovation for Development of Quality of Life and Sustainability, Faculty of
Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University, and has published extensively in peer-reviewed
Thai and international journals.
Dr. Sudkanueng is also an experienced organizational development facilitator, with expertise in
team-building, adult learning methodologies, and problem-based training. She completed
executive development programs at NIDA, the Office of the Civil Service Commission, and
McMaster University, Canada. She is a permanent member of the Thai Nursing Council, the
Nurses Association of Thailand, and the Psychiatric Nurses Association of Thailand
