Dr. Zainab Samad is a cardiologist, physician–scientist, and health data science leader at Aga Khan University, where she serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine. She is the founding director of the CITRIC Health Data Science Center, advancing the use of artificial intelligence and analytics to strengthen health systems in low- and middle-income countries. Trained at Aga Khan University and Duke University, she has extensive experience in cardiovascular medicine, global health, and digital health innovation. Dr. Samad has led major initiatives integrating clinical and population data to improve outcomes and inform policy, and contributes to national AI and health strategy efforts in Pakistan.
